Before assuming the present position in 1991, he worked for Nikkei as Correspondent, The Japan Research Institute as Management Consultant and the inter-governmental organization, Asian Productivity Organization as Research & Planning Officer. Part-time Lecturer at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(2006）
Authored “Information Technology-led Development: Developing Dynamism in Asia”(1990) and “Industrial Specialization by High-Tech Network” (2000).
